Beck goes off on this lady who dared to contradict him.
He verbally abuses the caller as it was his wife or children…and then, at precisely 3:30 in the audio, it sounds like someone pinched his nuts. Astounding.

Yes, Michale Moore is way too extremist. But he doesn’t make a movie about an issue unless something needs to be done about it, and usually he makes some pretty good points in his documentaries. The fact that this “grown man” (legally speaking, of course) can sit there and scream bloody murder at a woman on the phone over something as ridiculous as a difference of political opinion proves that he is, in short, incapable of reason or logic. Logical people to not burst a blood vessel arguing the health care system over the phone.
But it was funny to hear his voice go up a couple octaves.

When you are quoting news source its best to use quotes. Some people might think that you wrote the part about

when actually it’s the reporter from the Huffington Post. That comment is WAY out line. To even suggest that he yells at his wife and kids like that is like saying “Well Otep screams onstage about murder so she must an insane killer and screams like that all the time while she is offstage” He is expressing himself just like you are! This clip is from his radio show…not a tv show where he is milder. And also his wife made him stop getting so upset because his doctor told him its not good for him. So you know what he does? He has a guy he points to that does the screaming for him. Hmmmm….I think he just might respect his wife and kids. He might even LOVE THEM! wow!
Also it would be nice if you would include the whole article and not just cherry pick quips to suit the comedic need. The reporter also states that the caller OBVIOUSLY HAS NEVER LISTENED TO HIS SHOW or has ONE CLUE WHAT HE IS ABOUT. Again a sad case of people not doing their research and just taking what people say at face value.
Trust me if you knew what me, Glenn Beck, and all the other people you probably think are “Right wing idiots” knew you would be just as pissed or even more so because you actually VOTED for Obama. I respect your right to express an opinion, though I fervently disagree with you, and you are welcome to post here.
However ….
Just because you’ve recently had a spiritual awakening about politics or Obama or whatever and just saw Zeitgeist, Zeitgeist 2, the Obama Deception, or listened to Alex Jones, Coast to Coast AM, watched the Bohemian Grove documentary, or visit websites like infowars and truthout, or read any number of conspiracy theory books, Behold A Pale Horse, etc doesn’t mean others haven’t done the same research if not more.
I do not need a lecture from you or anyone else on what to believe, on when to “wake up”, or what I should be fighting for.
Glenn Beck is a dipshit, a living colostomy bag, and most likely, a mentally unhinged psychopath. The fact that you endorse him is the first strike against your argument.
The arrogance it takes for you to come to my blog and tell me I should do more research is insulting. You assume that because we disagree that I haven’t read as much (if not more) on these topics as you have.

I wrote a lot of useless words that resembled daggers…then decided it wasn’t worth it.
I apologize if it seemed like I was insulting you. If anything I was just sparring out of temporary angst.
I have often been told that when two Scorpios are in a room one must always submit. Since this is your room I shall do so. This entire process has reminded me why I used to ignore politics and also steer clear of the internet (when possible) in the first place: it’s the biggest energy suck there is.

One big problem is that when someone screams during public discourse, people tune out. It only alienates rational thinking people and keeps them from listening further. And there is a big difference between screaming while performing (art), and screaming during conversation which involves persuasive argument. The former can be cathartic and pleasurable, the latter is just fucking obnoxious.
A huge problem people like Beck and O’Reilly on Fox News, and other right-wing political talking heads on AM radio have on their hands is that they have come to the point where they are
perceived as a bunch of screaming lunatics with Cluster B Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This has effectively aliented the centrists, and drawn in the hardcore fundamentalist type viewer/listener.
Nobody is asking them to forsake their personal political views, but it would help so much if they would:
1. Calm down and speak like adults
2. Stop being so blindly partisan…if you are going to call Obama on his runaway spending, then call Bush and the Republican congress on theirs, which effectively doubled the national debt during their term. Stop acting like everything the Republican party does is God’s work, simply because they are Republicans (Limbaugh is especially guilty of this).
3. Stop lying and check facts. A lie is a lie is a lie, no matter what the source. Fox News is especially bad at this, and it doesn’t help to throw out so much disinformation
I know this would be hard for Fox News and other to do, because, let’s face it, a lot of this is about money and pandering to a certain audience segment to get ratings up.

I agree with you about Fox playing on people’s stress and fears. I actually worked for Fox and was subject to their newsfeeds for my job after the 9/11 attacks. I’ve been on the other side of the curtain when it comes to television in general so I have a good idea how it functions.
I also agree that yelling does turn off anyone else who will listen. Look where it got me with that post.
On point number 2 I have called out Bush a bazillion times. This clip of Beck has nothing to do with Bush. I am working with the current administration. Yes perhaps I have blinders on in your perspective but that is because you do not know me or what my current feelings are on the state of the world today. Honestly it would take pages and pages for me to accurately portray my feelings.
If I came off as being partisan I am sorry. I didn’t intend for it to look like that. I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN, DEMOCRAT OR ANYTHING….IM A HUMAN BEING. (and sometimes I even have problems with that label)
I apologized for a reason. I realized that my argument was not fleshed out correctly. This blog was not the appropriate stage for me to release some steam. From an outside point of view it looks like I am riding all over the Right Wing medias jock. But you have to understand it seems to me like they are the main ones who are really digging into this current administration. If you would look at any of my journal entries during the Bush era I was citing what people would consider Left wing news sources because those opinions were the closest to what I personally was feeling.
I hate party politics. HATE. Stupid effing boxes.
Yes people need to calm down but in times like this it is easy to get flustered and out of line. I did it, and most likely at some point I will do it again if things get worse…hopefully when it happens there will be paint and paper somewhere nearby to help me calm down and center.
I see where you are coming from and there is a difference where getting upset during a conversation.
I would eat my words even more but frankly I’m stuffed. I had a spastic moment of misplaced anger and I apologize.
I hope anyone else who actually bothers to read all of the comments will take this into consideration and spare me any further regurgitation. I am vowing to comment only on science or art related matters from now on…subjects that are a bit more constructive and positive in spirit.
