Ahmadinejad’s family has Jewish roots

A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.
The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth.
The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad’s birthplace, and the name derives from “weaver of the Sabour”, the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia.
The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior.
Experts last night suggested Mr Ahmadinejad’s track record for hate-filled attacks on Jews could be an overcompensation to hide his past.
Ali Nourizadeh, of the Centre for Arab and Iranian Studies, said: “This aspect of Mr Ahmadinejad’s background explains a lot about him.
“Every family that converts into a different religion takes a new identity by condemning their old faith.
“By making anti-Israeli statements he is trying to shed any suspicions about his Jewish connections. He feels vulnerable in a radical Shia society.”
A London-based expert on Iranian Jewry said that “jian” ending to the name specifically showed the family had been practising Jews.
“He has changed his name for religious reasons, or at least his parents had,” said the Iranian-born Jew living in London. “Sabourjian is well known Jewish name in Iran.”
A spokesman for the Israeli embassy in London said it would not be drawn on Mr Ahmadinejad’s background. “It’s not something we’d talk about,” said Ron Gidor, a spokesman.

There isn’t much of an excuse for denying the holocaust (or stealing elections). But Ahmadinejad’s stance against Israel is driven by popular opinion in his country and this popular opinion is driven by Israel’s the horrific treatment of the Palestinian people, Israel’s war crimes against the Lebanese and Palestinian people, and the Israeli government’s contempt for international law. And all of this is only made possible by the U.S.’s military support of Israel.
Muslims generally didn’t have much problem with Jews until the west decided that it had the right to create a nation for Jewish people on land that was inhabited by Arabs. So Arabs where displaced because EUROPEANS killed millions of Jewish people and our mythology (and not actual historical evidence) teaches that there used be a Jewish nation called Israel in the middle east thousands of years ago.
Ahmadinejad is a right-wing authoritarian leader of a theocratic government, so it isn’t surprising that he speaks of “The Jews” rather than the imperialism of the U.S. and Israel, just as many in the U.S. will engage in Islamophobia rather than offering intelligent criticism of middle-eastern governments.
Ahmadinejad needs people like him to control Israel and the U.S. This is because they will engage hateful rhetoric against Muslims and military aggression against the Muslim world. This means Ahmadinejad can do the same and gain support.
The best way to fight to the Ahmadinejads of the world is for people of peace and reason to take control of the situation and to observe international law, stop the war crimes and violations of human rights against the Palestinian people, and stop the military aggression of the U.S. and Israel. If Palestinians weren’t starved and burned with to death white phosphorous and the U.S. wasn’t occupying the nations on both sides of Iran, then there just wouldn’t be fuel for the antisemitism or anti-U.S. Sentiment and angry theocrats like Ahmadinejad couldn’t maintain power.
As for whether Ahmadinejad is actually of Jewish heritage, it really doesn’t matter and Israel is pretty smart for not talking about it. He’s just another sociopath politician and he doesn’t care if he’s part Jewish. If it came out that he was he’d just use that to further justify his attacks on Jews. For the Nazis, it was about genetics, but Islam teaches that everyone can and should become a Muslim. His ancestry just isn’t an issue.

This reminds me of something, can’t quite put my finger on it…..
Oh yeah, now I’ve got it! Ahmadinejad reminds me of those gay-bashing Rethuglican assholes who turn out to be secretly gay themselves. Don’t that beat all?
Oh, and it doesn’t help his ass out that he looks like the illegitimate spawn of Yasser Arafat and Yakov Smirnoff….

Bullshit statement is bullshit?
Like it or not, you cannot erase your past. Unless you willfully exile your entire family, denouncing your blood and own flesh and bone, you can never truly take on a new identity. I’m sure there’s a cousin in Israel cursing Ahmadinejad the hell out right now…. and their last name is probably Sabourjian. If Ahmadinejad was Jewish and living in Israel right now, something tells me he’d feel quite differently.
Isn’t it ironic that he, like Hitler, is essentially trying to eradicate a part of himself?

I dont care if this guy is a muslim or a non-muslim but he’s extremists and who knows maybe he works for the taliban.
He doesnt know anything about Islam. One person here wrote that everyone should convert to Islam which I 100% disagree. Everyone should fllower there hearts where ever it takes you. I am a muslim and I love my faith and I dont suport Ahmadinejads.

Jews people have killed many innocent arabs in middle east including children and woman,mans,mostly everyone. Just becasuse the germanys kicked the Jews out of germany it doesnt mean that the brithish people should give the land of palastine to Jews. Why didnt the british people give the jews there land instead of others ? Jews people do not belong in middle east!
