“Oh, and thank you for rainbows. Amen.”

I actually tried to pull something similar to this last year at Thanksgiving dinner. But instead of being icked out, my mother just rolled her eyes and tried to shovel the carcass on to my plate anyway. Que sera, sera, I suppose.

    damn you NBC

  3. Wynter Says:

This is great!! Yeah, NBC sucks for not showing this!

Yeah, you’d think there’s First Amendment rights on our public airwaves, but no. G.E. gets to refuse you the right to air your content (on the public airwaves which they never paid for), even if you pay.

There are a lot of left-wing messages that you can’t put on television. They don’t put on ads for anything anti-military or anything that promotes human rights for Palestinians, for examples.

  5. Some fool Says:

So what do vegans eat at Thanksgiving? What’s the centerpiece? o_O

Some fool – Some vegans choose not to celebrate Thanksgiving. Others have a meat alternative like Tofurkey or something similar. There are plenty of things to eat other than meat.

While I like the sentiment, this is Peta’s M.O., they submit ads they know will be rejected because it gets more people to watch their “too controversial for TV” commercials. I agree that being vegetarian or vegan is a healthy choice for most and better for the environment but I disagree with the militancy and hypocrisy of PETA.

  7. Crimen Says:

I don’t agree with everything Peta stands for, but for the most part they raise some fair points. In this ad especially.
This ad simply brings up some honest points that people don’t always like to dwell on – CNN is just being pathetic by not showing it.

The last line is amazing, the video is amazing and I do support what they’re trying to do. The fact that they’re trying to force veganism on people (the “go vegan” at the end) is kind of typical of latter-day PETA, along with paintballing people wearing fur. I love animals, I think that the animals deserve a humane death that comes along at the end of their lives and that they should be kept cleanly and not shoveled full of chemicals (my family eats only locally kept, grass-fed beef and never veal, thanks to a horror story about the veal calves told to us in a local paper) but apparently we can’t just stop there.

NBC should show this ad. However, I doubt it’ll change many hardcore meateaters’ minds.

    to Some fool:

Don’t think its a set thing, I’d personally go for a good big plate of roast butternut squash, parsnips, carrots, sweet potato. Ok that may just be the mood im in now but I’d say its whatever the hell ya want! =)

also this ad is brilliant! Thing is.. most people would just tell that little girl to shut up. Just refusing to listen and live in the little denial that the turkey just magically appears in the supermarkets after having a long and productive life… well that’s LIES! But sure if you want to shovel chemical ridden filth into your mouth.. who am I to stop you. I just like to inform people =)

I think it’s great. It’s reality. We just don’t want to hear it because we know we’re wrong and that’s hard for us to admit….it’s too bad that more of society doesn’t have this awareness.
